Tuya Smart Door Access Control
This is a complete door, not a component. The package includes the access terminal, the electromagnetic lock that actually holds the door, the power supply that drives it, a UPS so the door keeps working through a power cut, a breakglass unit for emergency egress and an exit button for the inside.
The terminal is standalone, which means users are enrolled directly on the device. There is no server to run and no software licence to renew. For a small office, a workshop, a server room or a clinic, that is usually exactly the right architecture.
Where it goes beyond a basic standalone terminal is the app. Remote unlocking means you can let a courier or a cleaner in without being on site, and without issuing them a card you then have to retrieve.

Chat with our sales consultantsThe lock matters more than the reader
Most access control failures are not authentication failures. They are door failures: a misaligned strike, a door closer that no longer pulls the leaf fully shut, a magnet mounted a few millimetres proud so the seal never completes. We spend as much time on the door as on the terminal, because a 600lb magnet holding a door that never quite closes is holding nothing at all.
Why the UPS is not optional
An EM lock is fail-safe: it unlocks when power is removed. That is a fire safety requirement, not a bug. But it also means a mains interruption leaves the door unsecured. The UPS in this package rides through short outages so the door stays locked when the lights flicker.
Fingerprint capacity versus user capacity
The terminal holds 10,000 card users but 300 fingerprint users. That asymmetry catches people out. If you are running a site with more than a few hundred staff who need fingerprint entry, this is not the terminal for you and we will say so.
Frequently asked
Does this need a server or a subscription?
No. Users are enrolled directly on the terminal. There is no recurring software cost.
What happens in a fire or a power cut?
The EM lock is fail-safe and releases when power is removed, and the breakglass provides manual emergency release. The UPS keeps the door secured through short mains interruptions.
Can it also track staff attendance?
For attendance reporting with software, look at our time attendance systems or the Hikvision terminals, which include attendance report functions.
