Hikvision Fingerprint Door Access
The DS-K1T804AMF is the workhorse of the Hikvision access range. It does two things — fingerprint and card — and it does them on a standalone terminal with no server behind it.
Three thousand fingerprints and three thousand cards are stored on the device. Users are enrolled directly at the terminal, and the 2.4 inch display confirms date, time and authentication result at every presentation. Remote unlocking through the mobile app covers the case where someone needs to be let in and nobody is at reception.
As with all our access packages, this is supplied as a complete door: terminal, 600lb electromagnetic lock, 12V 5A power supply, UPS, breakglass and exit button, installed and commissioned.

Chat with our sales consultantsEnrol two fingers, always
Roughly one user in twenty has a fingerprint the sensor reads poorly — dry skin, scarring, wear from manual work. The fix is not a better sensor, it is enrolling two fingers per user at the outset, ideally from different hands. It takes ten extra seconds per person during enrolment and it removes almost every subsequent support call.
Fingerprint or face?
Fingerprint is cheaper, unaffected by lighting, and unaffected by masks. Face is contactless, faster at high-traffic doors, and unaffected by gloves or wet hands. Neither is universally better. Choose against your actual door: a workshop entrance wants face, a quiet office back door wants fingerprint.
Card as the fallback, not the default
Cards get lent, lost and cloned. They are an excellent backup credential and a poor primary one. We enrol cards for contractors and visitors, and biometrics for staff.
Frequently asked
What if a fingerprint will not read?
We enrol two fingers per user at installation, which resolves nearly every case. Card authentication remains available as a fallback.
Can it track staff attendance?
Yes. The terminal includes an attendance report function for workforce tracking.
Does it need a server or a subscription?
No. It is standalone and users are enrolled on the device.
