Hikvision Face Recognition Door Access
Facial recognition removes the credential entirely. Nothing to carry, nothing to lose, nothing to lend to a colleague. For high-traffic doors this is the difference between a queue at the reader and a continuous flow of people through the door.
The DS-K1T341AMF is a standalone terminal that stores three thousand faces, three thousand fingerprints and three thousand cards on the device itself. It authenticates against any of them, which means you can roll out face recognition without stranding the staff who prefer a card.
The package is complete: terminal, 600lb electromagnetic lock, 12V 5A power supply, UPS, breakglass and exit button. Two-way audio lets reception speak to whoever is at the door, and the built-in attendance report function means the same hardware doubles as a clocking terminal.

Facial recognition terminals have a vertical recognition window. Mount the unit too high and short users are cropped; too low and it reads the top of everyone's head. The manufacturer specification is a starting point, not an answer — the right height depends on your actual user population and on where the light falls. We set it during installation and we test it with the people who will use it.
Backlight is the enemy
A terminal mounted facing a glass entrance with daylight behind the user will struggle, because the camera is metering for the window and the face falls into shadow. If the door has strong backlight, the terminal wants to be on the other wall. This single decision does more for recognition reliability than any setting in the menu.
Faces, fingerprints and gloves
Sites with gloved staff — kitchens, cleanrooms, workshops — get far more from facial recognition than from fingerprint, for the obvious reason. Sites with masked staff have the opposite problem. Most real deployments end up using both, which is why we specify a terminal that holds all three credential types rather than one that specialises.

Does it work with masks?
Recognition accuracy falls with a mask covering the lower face. The terminal also accepts fingerprint and card, which is why we recommend enrolling a second credential for staff who mask regularly.
Can it be used for staff attendance?
Yes. The DS-K1T341AMF includes an attendance report function for workforce tracking.
Is a server needed?
No. It is a standalone system and users are enrolled directly on the device.
