Hikvision IP Video Intercom System
The DS-KIS602 is a two-part system: a door station at the gate with a camera, microphone and single call button, and a 7 inch colour touchscreen indoor monitor. Both are powered and connected over a single network cable through the supplied PoE switch.
It is designed for villas and landed houses, where the gate is far enough from the door that answering it means a walk, and where you want to see who is there before you make it.
Snapshots and messages are stored on a TF card in the indoor monitor, so there is a record of who called even when nobody was home. The Hik-Connect app extends the same call to your phone, which means the gate can be answered from the office.

Where to mount the door station
Between 1.4 and 1.5 metres from the ground puts an average adult face in the centre of the frame. The instinct is to mount it at eye level, which is too high — it crops children and anyone in a wheelchair out of the shot entirely. The other rule is to avoid mounting it facing west, where the late afternoon sun sits directly in the lens for an hour every day.
Intercom or doorbell camera?
A doorbell camera is a camera that happens to have a button. An intercom is a communication system that happens to have a camera. If the gate is far from the house, if more than one person needs to answer it, or if you want a permanent indoor screen rather than a phone, the intercom is the correct system and the doorbell is a compromise.
Adding a second monitor later
The kit ships with one indoor monitor, but the system supports more. If you have a two-storey house, plan the second monitor at installation and we will run the cable while the ceilings are open. Retrofitting it afterwards costs more in reinstatement than the monitor does.
Frequently asked
Can I answer the gate from my phone?
Yes. The Hik-Connect app rings on your phone and lets you see, speak and release the gate from anywhere.
Can it be connected to a gate release or an EM lock?
Yes. The door station has a relay output that can drive a gate motor or an electric lock. We wire and test it during installation.
Can I add a second indoor monitor?
Yes. Tell us at the point of quotation so the cable is run during the first installation.
