Barrier Gate System
A barrier gate on its own is a motor and an arm. What makes it useful is what tells it to open: a plate recognition camera, a card reader, a loop detector, an intercom call to reception, or some combination of all four.
We install barriers for condominium entrances, office carparks, industrial yards and construction site gates. The barrier hardware is the straightforward part. The design work is in the vehicle detection loops, the safety interlocks, and the logic that governs what happens when two vehicles arrive together or when someone reverses under a descending arm.
Safety loops are not optional, and neither is the sequencing around them. A barrier that can descend onto a vehicle is a liability, and the loop layout that prevents it is site-specific.

Chat with our sales consultantsThe arm is not what you are buying
Barrier arms are commodities. Motors and duty cycles are not. A barrier at a condominium entrance may cycle two hundred times a day; a barrier at a busy commercial carpark may cycle two thousand. Fitting the domestic motor to the commercial gate saves money once and costs it back within eighteen months in call-outs. We size the motor against the traffic count, and we ask for the traffic count before we quote.
Loops are the safety system
Everything about a barrier's safety behaviour derives from where the induction loops are cut into the road surface and how the controller sequences them. Getting this wrong is how barriers come down on car bonnets. It is site-specific work: lane width, approach angle, whether vehicles queue on the loop, whether pedestrians share the lane.
Frequently asked
Can the barrier open automatically for registered vehicles?
Yes, using ANPR plate recognition or a card and fob reader. We integrate both.
What happens during a power failure?
The barrier includes a manual release so the arm can be raised by hand.
Can it be integrated with an intercom for visitors?
Yes. Visitors call the guardhouse or reception from the gate and are admitted remotely.
